I am late to the 2023 party

Oh hi there

anyone else get knocked down with all manner of flu-ish germs over Christmas?

Well our house did and I am only just getting back to reality.

In fact, I am pretty sure the Dominos I had last night has banished the last of the germs so I am carb-ed up and ready for 2023….

Kinda.

Because to be honest the time alone in bed feeling pretty terrible gave me a lot of time to think…well think and sleep.

And I realised I have not been myself recently.

I have been playing small

Lost some of my usual ambition and drive

and generally been a meh

Why? Honestly I am not sure. But it doesn’t really matter why, it matters what I am going to do about it.

1) Get Back to Quality Training.

This year training is a little different for me this year. 2022 was a “me” year with my 100k ultra in the summer. So I had a lot of weekend training, physio and generally having to be quite selfish. This year it is my other halfs year to do the big races and my turn to be on childcare.

So instead I am prepping for 2024.

The year I am planning to tick off a bucket list event and finally compete in an Ironman 140.6.

Which means this year I have to get as strong and lean as possible!

2) Make 5 Year Career plan

It is no secret I have been thinking about a bit of a change in the next few years, possibly to something completely new, possibly just switch up of how I do things.

Either way, a BIG change is on it’s way.

Well after a bit of doodling (because of course I had to sit and map it out) I realised that actually it is time to start putting the wheels in motion.

Since Oli was born I have been really putting off thinking about this, mostly because I haven’t had enough brain capacity, but it is starting to come together which is very exciting.

Current clients, don’t worry. Nothing is changing for you guys and I am going to be emailing you about things very soon!

3) Rekindle My Travel Love

I am so excited because I have just booked holidays for the whole of 2023. First up is skiing in Jan/Feb and I cannot explain how buzzing I am for some time in the mountains!

So no traditional resolutions for me this year.

And I know its a bit late to say this (but to be honest we are coming in to the second week of Jan so you might already be feeling like your perfect eating and training plan is getting tough) instead of making restrictive resolutions set intentions.

What you want more of

What you want less of

and make a plan.

Then, and this is the crucial part, take ACTION

I know, I know. Action is the tough bit.

Honesty I cannot recommend enough, try reading or listening to the book Atomic Habits - its a life changer.

Now, I feel like I should have something profound or a call of action here but honestly I don’t have either to hand

maybe I am not quite as over the flu as I thought

But I am going to start doing these more often.

And if you want some accountability feel free to shoot me a DM on instagram or an email and tell me what intentions you are setting this year

Until next time,

Rosie
